Small Signs On The Horizon For Carlos Vela

There was a small sign on the horizon for Mexican hitman Carlos Vela as he returned to the bench in Arsenal’s shocking draw against Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.

The young 21 years old got the call by Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger for the 18-man strong squad, but Wenger never had in his mind to let the young Mexican play against the Blues. That is for sure,  because Carlos was sitting the full-time on the bench without getting an order for warming up for a possible short performance in the end.

The Gunners got a late goal, thanks to substitute Samir Nasri, as the French midfielder banged a 19 yards right footed effort past Joe Hart into the far corner , but Kevin Philipps was able to equalise in stoppage time for the Blues, forced by a horrible mistake of Arsenal netminder Manuel Almunia.

The Gunners are now 4 points behind Manchester United in the Barclays Premiership and there are serious doubts that Wenger’s team can fight for silverware in the Premier league, but as well as in the Champions League, with Arsenal facing Barcelona in the Quarter finals.

We shall be happy for any small lights we can see on the end of the tunnel for Carlitos, so that we should continue to support him that he is not losing his believe!

  1. If / when he’s good enough he’ll play. (the comment has been edited because of attacking the site’s admin, we respect any opinion, but not disrespectful words on Carlos Vela News)

  2. Admin, are u vela’s agent?
Why are u lobbying for playtime when it’s pretty clear vela’s not going to be a matchwinner at this point.
Wenger has sent him on a number of times and he has failed to deliver, do u honestly believe he can change the game as he has failed to do so?
Why are u suggesting he’s about to leave Arsenal?
All these are unneccesary speculations and your blog is beginning to sound very silly.

    • On CF4, I will see you, that you will make an impact if you have just 10-15 minutes, noone at Arsneal would have a breaktrough at arsenal with that amount of playing time, Fabregas for example is only good because he got a lot of match time since he turned 18 years old, so don’t tell me he shows nothing, if he gets not the chance for it

    • “Wenger has sent him on a number of times and he has failed to deliver, do u honestly believe he can change the game as he has failed to do so?”

Save for Wednesday’s performance, Walcott has also failed to do anything special on the pitch and he only has speed but lacks technical ability (Which Carlos has) yet he’s still given chance after chance to prove himself.

Vela has been denied that chance at development even when fit. I contribute this to scheduling conflicts and that other more mature players are ahead of him (not including Walcott) and not his lack of skill.

Stop with the argument of failure to deliver when other players clearly lack week in and week out yet are still given “chances” (big chances at that) to prove their class.

Vela will hopefully be shown the same courtesy next season (let’s be realistic about this season, yes?) after the world cup (looking forward to him and Chicharito on the pitch together).

Stop with the lack of performance nonsense already. If this were true, he would not have been able to make such a beautiful goal against NZ after not having been given minute by Arsene due to lack of skill in practice.

  3. Vela is a sheer class talent being wasted on the bench.

And I’m also of the opinion he could do better in the place of Arshavin in team.

If we let this boy go, he could be another Anelka(better).

    • Are you serious? Actually better than Arshavin? Arshavin is our second top scorer and 3rd top assister. I’d be impressed if Vela could even get close to contributing as much as Arshavin.

      • Arshavin doesn’t have his heart in Arsenal!

      • Sorry to say but the lad is right, what football are you watching that makes arshavin a world class. With all respect arshavin is not a professional player. the guy cant shoot right he tries couple of times until the ball hit on the right spot of his foot. and all he does is try to curl it to the far post with his right. dont get me wrong i love arshavin but he is not someone to play in tugh games. P.s. i hate denilson the cunt.

      • Are you saying Arsharvin cant shoot???? Erm 4 goals against Liverpool last season, another cracker against them this season, a stunner against Man U?

Seriously why would you wrote something so stupid?

    • Randy Osae, you know nothing about football. Go kill yourself.

      GO VELA!

  4. but u see, at the moment we are(or rather we were before saturday) challenging for the title. We can’t afford to slip up at such a critical time. We even had first teamers like nasri and arshavin on the bench, it will be more rational to send them on instead of playing a youngster. I have no doubts of vela’s quality and that’s the reason i’m even on this blog. He looks lightweight at the moment, should do some gym sessions along with denilson to fit into the epl.

  5. Its stunning how quickly people write off young players at arsenal. Really stunning.
I dont think this is really the place for a youth project with such fickle fans.
Carlos is as talented a youngster as you’re likely to see around europe. Can’t wait for him to get some real game time.

  6. well maybe ua tha 1 luzin ua confidence;
He hasnt n neither have i. Be carefull wid what u wish 4.

  7. Vela is a good player but with 20 minutes to go we needed to make subs to try and get the win. Arshavin and Nasri came on and clearly made the difference and they combined well, with Nasri eventually getting the goal. Could you seriously say Vela would have done a better job than they did? He will have his chance but not yet.

  8. Why has Carlos Vela got his own dedicated blog?

  9. Great blog and insight keep up the good work bro..

  10. In two years Carlos Vela will prove to be one of the best strikers Arsenal has seen for years. Like Diaby, Song etc. he will come good. He just needs patience and playing time. Wenger knows.

  11. I would sell Vela in the summer. It appears that Chamack is on his way. He and Carlton Cole would be and upgrade. Vela hasn’t impressed me to be good enough for Arsenal.

  12. rantraveandriot :

You’ve been diagnosed of ‘Arshavin-ass-kissing-cuz-of-Anfield’ virus.

    Good luck mate.

  13. Geir :

Totally agree! Already looking forward for next season, because I belive Vela will be one of the greatest player ever. Remember Henry wasn´t worldclass at 21 either.

  14. First things first … Carlton Cole? What? The Carlton Cole? For Arsenal? What?

As for CV12. He wasn’t on the bench on Saturday just to make up the numbers. AW doesn’t do that. He was there for a situation that didn’t materialize. But the point is he was there. This shows that AW not only believes in him, but that he probably went well in training.

AA23 and SR8 went on ahead of CV12 because of experience. If the goal hadn’t come E9 would have come on ahead of Vela. This will always be the case until Carlos proves what he can do on a regular basis. This is how things stand. He can either impress in training or in the first team playing time as substitute. But the point not to be missed is that he was on the bench and not on loan.

  15. y didnt they just let vela go out in a loan deal if there were not gonna use him this season he could have been getting first team experience some place else

  17. Look vela has got very good potential and could be world class. I used the word could as potential never got you anywhere! There’s also a reason wenger never played him and in my eyes wenger knows best. Vela will prove himself in training and possible first team. If he deserves to play wenger will play. Wenger don’t want to keep him on the bench to piss him off, it because he thought he had better options, which did prove to work. However I am a massive fan and have got very frustrated over why we don’t play him enough

  18. First of all i am a true Vela fan. Vela is ready to play games if he is 100%. even if you all think he is not in proper form believe me that he is and will make a BIG difference now and later. Arsenal have a lot of talent and right now is not the time to find out who is better than who but to put out a team that is cappable of making a difference. 6 more matches to win. But what if Manchester win all their games or what if Chelsea win all theirs? AT least i will be proud that Arsenal did their part. If Arsenal let Vela go it will be sad to see him go, but if it happens it better be a team from Spain so he can get full playing time.

  19. Lets all just have Faith in Vela that one day he would start playing.

  20. Just look at Bendtner…. wasn’t getting much game time and now is suddenly in the limelight and leading the line. Vela will need to wait for his turn the same way. Other examples of the same are Song, Diaby, Gibbs. I understand this is a CV12 site, but for godsake man football is a team game and the team is The Arsenal! The Arsenal will always come ahead of any player, so while Vela is signed for The Arsenal, the priority will always be The Arsenal and not Vela.

  21. Forget Vela, he spends most of his time flying to Mexico and back. Complete waste of space – I’m pretty sure Wenger only bought him to sell him.

  22. I think Arsenal chances of winning the title are hanging by a thread. The defence as usual goes to sleep at crucial times of the game. Why can’t Arsenal play like other teams
to protect the one advantage. In the quest to score the second goal, the gunners exposed themselves to the swift counter.
IF Arsenal play in a cavalier way against Barca, don’t be surprised messi will take home a two goal lead
Most fans have pointed the defence as the most vulberable. They will have a chance to see wheir is vindicated.

  23. this is frustrating for Carlos, In my opinion, he should be getting more playing time because he cant play any worse than Walcott is playing at the moment. I dont know why Arsene Wenger has so much faith in TW14.

  24. A Zimmermann, you are not helping your mate with these posts. He’s a young lad with a lot of developing to do. He does not have a god-given right to play.

  25. arshait :Sorry to say but the lad is right, what football are you watching that makes arshavin a world class.

Arshavin can’t shoot did you just say? What 😐 are you actually retarded…

  26. To decry Vela is to show AW has no eye for potentials, what a shame that people could not have patience to really observe the real talent in this youngster. It is vogue to shoot from the hip and invite self-glorification,mostly echoes with empty can sounds the loudest. He will deliver in time, when he has the right partner, because of his style and size. His website means nothing, his skill does. There will be humble pies all around,in time.

  27. Vela will be one of the best.

    • I agree with u rami…wenger just needs to put him @ the games so we can see more of his good potential as a soccer player.

    • Yeah yeah..
Vela will be one of the best from the 2nd-3rd year on from your Football Manager.
      Actually so will Felipe Melo!!
And I’m pretty sure wilshire and ramsey will be bad cos my FM shows so.
FRANKLY, OPEN YOUR EYES! THIS IS REAL FOOTBALL, NOT SOME SIM!

  28. is he on the squad for barcelona´s game?

  29. Wenger doesn’t play Vela so that he doesn’t get selected to the Mexican Team and in turn won’t score goals against the French team in the world cup. (Wenger is French)
Arsehole Wenger will get thrashed against Barcelona.

  30. Carlos Vela and Gio. Don’t forget about Hernandez, Barrera, Juarez, and Moreno.

  31. time will only tell, has wenger coinned a future star or not, lets hope for arsenals sake, vela will turn out to be part of a great arsenal future, much has been especulated on this…truley hope vela delivers, the talent, he pocesses, let him work out the skills..go arsenal!

  32. First of all, let’s remember that Vela has a lot of competition, which includes world-class players such as Arshavin and Nasri. I am Mexican and I hope Vela will eventually get more playing time, but you’d have to be crazy to choose Vela over these two amazing players. However, let’s remember that Wegner did renew Vela’s contract last winter for a couple of years, which means Wegner has future plans for Vela and he stills sees in him a lot of potential, but Wegner knows that Vela is not quite ready yet. Maybe the best thing to do would be giving Vela on loan to another EPL team (i.e. Fulham) just like he did with Jack Wilshere, but if not, we have to be patient and trust in Wegner.

  33. Hi Zimmerman, anything new on Vela? You think he might play against the wolfs?
