First of all we want to say that Carlos Vela News in now back after a refreshing summer break!
21 years old Mexican striker Carlos Vela has shown a decent display in this years Emirates Cup for Arsene Wenger’s Gunners side at Emirates Stadium on last weekend. The El-Tri hitman was a late substitute in the Milan clash on Saturday afternoon, but Arsene Wenger has decided to give Carlitos a start against Neil Lennon’s Celtic on Sunday.
Vela weared his new number 11 which he picked up from Dutch striker Robin van Persie who changed to Dennis Bergkamp’s former number 10.
It needed Vela just 3 minutes into the first half to struck home for the Gunners after English midfield prospect Jack Wilshere picked up winger Theo Walcott on the right hand side and the English international slotted in a deadly cross, so that Vela just needed to slide in and tap the ball with his left foot over the line.
Overall the Mexican showed his tremendous potential, but we should stay calm because that is just the pre season and doesn’t matter really. It was nice to see that Carlos is now more focused to work hard in training as he looks much fitter than in the last season, his movement and technique is better and he looks really stronger prior to a hard body workout in Austria.
A good thing for Carlos is that this pre season preparation can help him to get back his knocked out confidence after a shocking display in the last campaign flooded with difficult injuries.
“El Bombardero” was a transfer target of several clubs including La Liga outfits CD Espanyol, Deportivo la Coruna, Sevilla FC as well as German Bundesliga teams Borussia M’Gladbach, Cologne FC and Italian Serie A sides Genua FC and AS Roma.
They probably tried all to lure the young striker away from Ashburton Grove but his employer Arsenal Football Club refused all potential transfer talks about him with Gunners Manager Arsene Wenger having high plans in the future with the Mexican International.
