Arsenal team-mates Carlos Vela and Bacary Sagna will go head to head tonight when Mexico take on France at the Peter-Mokaba-Stadium in Polokwane.
Both teams have started their tournament with a draw, so that both are definitely under pressure to win this vital clash in Group A. Especially Raymond Domenech’s side was very disappointing against Uruguay as well as Vela’s Mexico side can play better as well.
Gunners Manager Arsene Wenger has admitted today on Arsenal’s official site that the young 21 years old need a good World Cup and that he is so excited for today’s matchup between Carlos and French right back Bacary Sagna.
“He needs a good World Cup,” said the manager. “He had good preparation games but maybe he missed a little bit in the opening match. He has another chance in the second game and he will play against his Arsenal partner Sagna.
“For me it is very interesting to see our players in a different context and when they play against each other it is even more interesting for me.”
Will be a very interesting matchup, with Sagna’s strength and power against Vela’s pace and technique, but first of all Mexico head coach Javier Aguirre have to confirm his starting eleven.
So fans of the Seleccion Mexicana stay tuned for the World Cup encounter tonight! Viva Mexico!
