Carlos Vela Snubs Depor To Stay At Ashburton Grove

Young prolific Arsenal striker Carlos Vela has snubbed Deportivo La Coruna’s interest to continue playing for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side.

The young Mexican has been linked in the last 48 hours with a switch to the Riazor stadium along with his friend and Tottenham hitman Giovani Dos Santos, but Vela’s agent Eduardo Hernandez made all clear that his client is staying with the north London outfit.

Hernandez had talks recently with the Gunners Manager and Chairman Peter-Hill-Wood about Carlitos future and for Mr. Wenger is Vela a big part of Arsenal’s future, so that the French man rejected any inquiry for a switch of the talented and pacy winger.

Hernandez said:

“We appreciate the interest of Deportivo in Carlos… They are not the first team to have shown an interest, but we talked recently with Arsenal and we are told that there is no possibility of him going to another club.”

With Carlos recently in tremendous form, we all hope that he stays injury free, because then he can explode for the Gunners in the upcoming campaign, as the Italy game showed how tough it is to handle him. You could see that the best international defense could just stop him with bad tackles.

  1. Great news! Honestly Carlos is such a fantastic player I really and truly hope he gets games next season! Also you do a wonderful job with this site! A fantastic example of what a player fan site should be like! Keep it up!

  2. Good stuff

  3. good to know he’s not going anywhere as i’d have hated to see him go. i’m such a big fan nd really do hope he has a great world cup and extend that form to arsenal next season.

  4. Thanks for that update thats Very good news. We need to keep talent like Vela at arsenal i dont understand these plastic fans saying he must go, ne minutes hes our new messi then because of injury’s and lck of playing time we must ship him off to some other team only to say one day Oh arsen should have kept him. well his hear now so lets all give our players support.

Soon you would want young Jack to be sold too?

  5. 1Nil2TheArsenal

Sounds like Arsenal snubbed Deportivo, not Carlos.

  6. If we go back to 4-4-2 then Carlos will be impressive but if we stay with 4-3-3 then he will find it hard to get playing time.
Maybe he will get playing time on the left wing

  7. There is no chance of Vela leaving Arseanl for the time being. Wenger rates him highly, he just needs a bit of patience and his time will come

  8. I’m happy for you to have finally some good news to report about our little Carlos. I always hoped he would come of age and shine and who knows, it could be this coming season. Can’t wait to see it happening.

  9. Not being funny but “With Carlos recently in tremendous form” really playing okish in a few friendlies doesn’t warrant such hyperbole. Lets see after the world cup if he really has the right stuff to make it at Arsenal.

  10. i think chamakh’s arrival means that we are going back to 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, and if that’s true then i would expect vela to play a lot more.

fingers crossed he will have a good season.

  11. i hope carlos has an awesome world cup too!

  12. i think a variation of 4-4-2 with the middle being a diamond or switching to a 4-1-3-2 will then see Vela part of a 6 strong batch of strikers competing for 2 positions (RVP, Chamakh, Bendtner, Eduardo, Walcott & Vela) Arshavin would find himself as one of the midfield 3 or at the front of the diamond depending on which formation we use, it is not too different to the current 4-3-3 it just means we should use the likes of Diaby & Denilson a little less, so that should be a real plus. Hopefully Joe Cole will play on either side of the midfield 3 or any of the 3 attacking roles in the diamond and that is whether Cesc goes or not. If he does go hopefully we will nab Toure as part of the deal and splash some cash on Gourcuff, although i think we are more likely to add another freebie in Assulin rather than spend big money on Gourcuff. Back to Vela the world cup and the first 4 months of next season will be crucial, he has the opportunity to force himself in front of Eduardo Chamakh & Walcott as niether will be at the WC. I personally think if you look at these 6 we have the best strike force in the League, they all offer something different, with the exception of Walcott are first choice for their countries and all have goals in them. How many clubs can boast 6 full international strikers of which 5 are first choice and another who is only 21 and already been to a World Cup and has scored a hat-trick for his country. If we switched to 2 up front it will benefit all our 6 strikers both at club and international level, whilst you would think they might get less playing time, i actually think they would benefit from rest and then actually playing in the roles they are good at rather than taking up winger roles or deeper attacking roles.

  13. I really like Carlos a lot and I think he could be one of the worlds best strikers in a few years.
I hope he wel come good in next season. I really love the way he can finish some chances with his delightful chips.

  14. that position on the left wing of an attacking 4-3-3 is reserved for none other than carlos vela, when arshavin loses his pace with a few years left at the top of his game, vela would no doubt be the best candidate for that role, so please do not leave carlitos! i believe in you!

  15. vela is a super player jst wish wenger wil giv him more games nxt season

  16. Great news. Really hope we see more of him next season.

  17. I think Carlos can really kick on this year and get into the team. Once he plays a bit more regularly he has a good chance of recapturing some of his international form in the Arsenal side. He has certainly shown that he has the ability.

    Great site this.

  18. Give him more games!! (on the wing)

  20. it would definitely be very interesting to see gio and vela playing together! We’ll see what happens after the w.c.

  21. I hope he gets to work as hard as he does when he is playing for Mexico, there is a perception that Vela is a bit sluggish when playing for Arsenal but does very well with Mexico. Does anyone know why?

  22. Vela FAN Chicago

I HOPE he does leave ARSENAL were i deeply believe his not appreciated, 1) he bearelly gets any playing time 2) Arsenal fans do not support him. After the WC2010 I am sure he will be SOLD Arsenal is hungry more money not wins, my best bet is another Premier team i dont see him leaving for Depor or any other LOW CLASS team, maybe LIVERPOOL, MANCHESTER UTD (imagine Chicharito n Vela) who knows only time will tell.

    VIVA MEXICO

    VIVA VELA CABRONES.

  23. Too bad, I think he’s more fit for La Liga than for the more physical Premier League, in Spain he’d be a beast.

  24. well, until I heard this new ( that Deportivo la Coruña wanted him) I knew it wasn´t able to be done, first, because Arsenal knows about Carlos potential in te future, I mean, Can you imagine Carlos Vela beating or trying to beating Arsenal with other team in the Champions or something? I don´t think so. It wasn´t a great season for Carlos but he is young and so much talented. Just hope he can play the next season after the world cup and the injuries can leave him alone a little bit. Carlos is a future star, just like it was Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. And now look it at them. Hope Carlos bring to Arsenal cups and glory. Best wishes even If I´m a Manchester United supporter.

  25. Wenger – Vela is one of the best I have seen

Suspension and injury may have robbed Wenger of his first-choice strike duo but he is sure he has ‘the answer’ in Carlos Vela.

The Mexican burst onto the Arsenal scene with a superb hat-trick in last month’s Carling Cup victory over Sheffield United and the absence of Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin Van Persie could hand him further first-team opportunities in the next few weeks.

Wenger is aware that Vela must adapt to the physical nature of the Premier League but the Frenchman is certain that he has enough quality to fill the void.

“Vela is one of the answers,” said Wenger at Tuesday’s press conference. “Carlos is an outstanding striker, he will be a top goal-scorer and is one of the best finishers I have seen.

“He is 19 years old and playing at a top, top club. We don’t believe that he needs to improve his finishing or his technical quality, we just need him to adapt to the combative side of the English side of the game.

“He is responding very well at the moment and it will give him something more and make him a top-class striker.”

This is what Wenger thinks about Vela. Next year we will go back to 4-4-2 he will play alongside Bendtner, Eudardo will probably be sold and we will have 4 top quality strikers.
Vela is an incredible talent and WEnger knows that
    Patience

  26. Great news, he is a fantastic player.

  27. I hope he will stay in Arsenal

  28. check this link: http://www.AnthonyAsemota.com. Will you guys say Vela is better than Walcott? I think he might be.
