Injury Hit Arsenal Travel To Porto

Injuries are something to be taking in consideration in all sports but especially when you are thinking about having some sports betting action.  Arsenal striker, Carlos Vela has missed the games against Chelsea and Liverpool in the past week and will probably miss the clash against Porto next Wednesday.

Vela is a fun striker to watch especially when he is front of the goal as he scores beautiful goals when he has the change to play; but he is suffering a knee injury in the last couple of weeks and hasn’t been able to cooperate in crucial games where his team needed a deep roster.

Next Wednesday Arsenal travel to Portugal to face Porto in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.  Not only is Vela out for this game but also Alex Song, Croatian striker Eduardo and Russian forward Andrey Arshavin.

“So the questions marks will be about Arshavin and Song. We’ll know more in a few days. Arshavin has a scan today and Alex Song has come in for treatment. He is very sore today so we’ll have to see how he responds”, said Wenger.

The professor Arsene Wenger will not have at his disposal Johan Djourou and Robin Van Persie either in an Arsenal team that appears to be more of a nursing home co-ed team than a soccer squad.

Despite the injury jinx continues for the gunners they have managed to be third in the league just 5 points behind Manchester United and 6 from the Premier League current leader Chelsea.

Will all those injuries just imagine what would be the roll of Vela in the team if he was healthy, the real question for Arsenal is how far will they get in the UCL will that nursing home they called a team?

  1. It has been very hard for the coach to deal with so many injuries, but i think that it is something normal because the competition is so demanding. Carlos Vela is so talented and skillful, and i feel that it wasn’t his time to put him in a Arsenal team yet. Wenger should had given Vela another year or two in the La Liga. Then i know that he would have that golden feet to make a better difference. I only like arsenal because of Carlos Vela. I think that since there is no more hard teams to play against in the leage that arsenal should be getting nothing but victories. Also knowing that the world cup is around the corner, arsenal will be seeing some of their players leaving to their respective national teams to get ready for the greatest competition of the world. Carlos Vela just has to relax and play his game with a positive mentality.

  2. Though arsenal has injuries, porto must be gunned as long as we have some key players in our squad. Iam not worried at all. I believe arsenal not porto.

  4. I don’t agree that although Carlos did not have injuries, the coach doesn’t give him chance to play in matches, and if he does is 1 or 2 minutes and that if Carlos Vela is lucky.
I hope Carlos’ injury heal soon, and i wish i could see him in games as a member, holder, etc or at least half time.
Carlos is an excellent player and I think an exceptional person.
