Carlos Vela Gets 10 Minutes In Bolton Week

20 years old Mexican Carlos Vela got 10 minutes of football, as his club Arsenal could shut down Premier League side Bolton Wanderers two times in four days.

In the away clash at the Reebok Stadium on last Sunday, Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger sent Carlos on after 82 minutes, so that he had a short run out with two good actions, as he got the ball on the right hand side to force a run through the middle, as well as he turned inside from the left flank to fire a left footer from the 18 yard box, but the ball was cleared by Bolton’s defense.

Then in the home match at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, Vela got two minutes, as he was brought on for Tomas Rosicky, but that was enough to show a little bit of glimpses, as Eduardo Da Silva played a through ball to the young Mexican, but Vela failed with his effort just a foot wide into the side of the net.

Next up for the Mexican is a away trip to the Britannia Stadium, when the Gunners take on Stoke City on Sunday. Hopefully Carlos will get there some more minutes from Mr. Wenger.

  1. Don’t worry Bolton was a bit to physical side and both games were must wins.
Vela will start on sunday against Stoke.

  2. i agree i c vela starting at stoke. den cumin on as a sub at aston villa, man united but he will miss the chelsea game

  3. Its enough for a young player with ambition like Vela,im sure Mr Wenger knows how to motivate him …He is in one of the best teams of the world, his progress is gradual and he will be intelligent enough to see, he soon will have more minutes…

  4. Jack Staniforth

I can only imagine how Carlos really feels deep inside but has to put on a brave positive face.Next season must belong to him, he will have bulked up and be able to add physical presence to his unquestionable talent. He is a great favourite with the fans and has the makings of an Arsenal legend. A lot will depend on how Wenger sees his attacking formation and if and who he buys.

  5. I understand patience and all. But Vela needs to play now so as to shine for Mexico as FIFA expects him to. He needs to shine so that Mexico does well. We all know he has the talent but talent does not mature without experience.
