Young Gunner Vela Set To Shine For Mexico in The Quarterfinal

Young 20 years old Carlos Vela is ready to shine for his native country, as he has fully recovered from his leg injury which he suffered in the first match of the Gold Cup 2009 (Copa de Oro) against Nicaragua.

The Mexican national side arrived yesterday in Dallas (Texas), to prepare for the upcoming Quarterfinal clash, when Mexico take on Haiti at the Cowboys stadium.

Mexico head coach has admitted on a official press conference that he has lined-up the young Arsenal forward.

Carlos Vela was speaking to the native media, how well he recovers and which sharpness Mexico need to get their chance to win the Gold Cup!

“I feel me good, I am very satisfied of the improvement that I have made since last week and I’m going to be ready before Haiti, hope that everything should go out well and there should be nothing that prevents me from taking into consideration”

“We have been improved very much , but we must be more concentrated and we need to use every opportunity”

“It is necessary to be much concentrated on the defensive part, because sometimes we are lacking concentration, so that we need to understand that this is a match of direct elimination”.

  1. Top post Alex.

It’s a shame Carlos won’t get much rest this summer, does this mean he’ll end up missing the first couple of months of the season?

Keep the great work up mate! 🙂

  2. Do you think with Chamakh potentially arriving this season and the fact that we are likely to play 4-5-1 that Carlos could find his opportunities severely limited? By my reckoning in Wenger’s mind he will be 5th or 6th choice striker (him or theo). What do you think?

  3. yeah right up to christmas

  4. I wish we would keep the strikers as they are! Time to give more responsibility to Nik Bendtner and Carlos Vela as they have the talent to make it big at the club but need the games to prove it! I remember watching them in preseason last year and they linked up beautifully.

  5. let’s hope he has a great season Bobby Gee

  6. I hope Carlos comes back to Arsenal healthy and fit. He can be a major player this season.
