Arsenal winger Carlos Vela has admitted in this weeks match programme, that he has still a long way to go in his development as an Arsenal player. He claimed also, how complicated it is to come from a totally different league (La Liga) into a physical League like the Barclays English Premiership, as well as he told us about the Sunderland Match. Although he is very happy with his personal improvement as an Arsenal player.
“At the moment we aren’t going through the best period in the league, we know that,”
“Obviously anxiety can play a big part in these instances and on those occasions last week [against Sunderland] the ball came across to me and it was one of those things – sometimes you score, sometimes you don’t, and that’s it.”
“But I’m very happy, in my mind things keep improving. I’m more relaxed here now, and I think I have improved a lot from playing against teams at the top level here in England. It’s always difficult coming from a different league and having to acclimatise but I feel that things are going well.” (quotes from arsenal.com)
Arsenal Manger Arsene Wenger has given Vela on Saturday afternoon against London rivals FC Fulham his first Premier League start for the Gunners, but Arsenal failed again to get a good result. Vela has played quite well, but he needs to work still on a lot of things like physical strength, one on one challenges etc. Vela got finally 62 minutes before he was replaced by Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner.
Finally it was a nice birthday present from the Manager for the young Mexican, because Carlos turned 20 yesterday!
Everyone at Carlos Vela News is wishing Carlos all the best for his next year!
