Portsmouth and Middlesbrough Chasing Vela

With the winter transfer window ticking down, several reports are claiming that Portsmouth Manager Tony Adams , as well as Middlesbrough Coach Gareth Southgate are keen to sign Gunners starlet Carlos Vela on loan. Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger has turned down so far all offers for the 19 years old forward, but could change his mind when he lands his top transfer target Andrey Arshavin in the next 48 hours.

With the likes of Arshavin, as well as the return of Croatian international Eduardo da Silva, the Mexican could fail to continue his progress in Arsene Wenger’s side.

Arsenal legend Tony Adams wants Vela as replacement for Tottenham returner Jermaine Defoe, but the Pompey Manager has also a other target in Manchester City’s Benjani. Adams has only one problem, because it is only allowed to have two loan players in your ranks, so that he can only sign Vela, when he gives a loan player a permanent deal.

Meanwhile Boro Manager Gareth Southgate wants to bring the young Mexican on loan to Riverside, to raise his opportunities up front. With the likes of Afonso Alves, as well as former Arsenal player Jeremie Aliadiere failing to score goals, the Manager need really more offensive power and hopes to seal a deal with Arsenal.

Everything can maybe  happen until 2nd February, but all is up to Mr. Wenger!!

I think Vela should go becuase he needs to start playing more to gain more experience if not he might ruin his career. He is just so talented to ruin himself in England come to Spain Carlos.
