Globe Trotting Adventures Rule Carlos Vela Out Ahead Of Saturday’s Blackburn Clash

Arsenal striker Carlos Vela has been ruled out of this weekends Premier League fixture away to Blackburn, with the 19-year-old only returning to England on Thursday afternoon.

Friday will be the Mexicans first training session since featuring for his country in important FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, and manager Arsene Wenger added Vela’s name to the list of absentees ahead of the trip to Lancashire in his pre-match press conference.

“At the moment I do not know about everybody because some players finished their game at 4am, for example Carlos Vela in Mexico,” he said.

“I count him out completely but overall it looks good.”

Carlos will now look to work in hard in training and put him in contention for the midweek Champions League clash against Dynamo Kyiv. The news will come as a disappointment for Vela who had excelled on his League debut at home to Newcastle two weeks ago.

  1. I don’t really blame Wenger. Flying all the way from Mexico after having 2 big games and being thrown into another tough game wouldn’t be wise. He picked up a knock in the game against Canada last night as well. So the best thing is to rest him.

  2. Unfortunate since I am one is extremely excited by Vela. I think he’s the real business and I’d like to see him unleashed with an in form Walcott on EPL defenses.

  3. I agree. There will not always be international games, so he will get chances to star for Arsenal, but it certainly does not make sense to rush him into the team when he is not ready.

  4. Especially against Blackburn!!!

Kiev will be a good game for him I think

  5. yeah Blackburn will be a hard hitting game and if your a little tired Blackburn is not the team you want to see LOL I’m sure he will get to play in the CL game
