When Osasuna take on Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday afternoon at the Estadio Reyno de Navarra (another important step in making sure they remain in La Liga), On loan Arsenal forward Carlos Vela will come up against his Mexican teammate Andres Guardado.
Vela returned to the starting line-up against Catalan outfit Espanyol, with the three points helping the Osasunistas avoid relegation. Vela’s team won the first round against Deportivo la Coruna at Riazor with a final score of 1:2.
With Vela looking bright on the left wing for Osasuna and Guardado’s massive impact on the same position at La Coruna, The Mexican national side have two stars for the future to battle for one place.
Vela has scored so far in this campaign 3 goals and has completed 4 asissts, with Andres Guardado a goal tally of 5 along with 5 asissts for the galician side.
Arsenal prospect Carlos Vela is two years younger than Guardado, but he is the number one on the left hand side in the Mexican national side, but Guardado can also play on the right wing or as a second striker.
Deportivo La Coruna signed Andres Guardado in the summer from Atlas FC for a fee of around 7.5 million €, despite reports the Gunners had made an offer for his services, but after advances were rejected for an inital work permit, the move to the Emirates collapsed.
