On loan Arsenal forward Carlos Vela is back in action on Sunday in La Liga with loan club CA Osasuna Pamplona against Getafe CF in the province of Madrid in a another crucial battle to stay in spain’s top league. Vela recently recovered from a thigh injury and is now back in full training.
Carlos Vela will start on the left wing to support Kike Sola or Eduardo Dady up front. Carlos was sidelined in the last match as Osasuna lost at home against the Andalucia side Real Betis Sevilla. The signs are looking good that he can feature in the starting line-up for the Osasunistas.
After the home defeat for Osasuna on Sunday, Jose Angel Ziganda will see this battle against a strong Getafe side as another important step for the club on the way to avoiding relegation for the club.
The side from former Denmark international and Real Madrid player and now Getafe coach Michael Laudrup are currently 9th in the league table as well as the team doing well in the UEFA Cup and will face german side Bayern Munich in the next phase.
Vela’s side are currently 14th with 34 points with Getafe currently 9th with 39 points so only 5 points seperate them and Pamplona outfit, but with the recent form, they are firm favourites to turn over the away side on Sunday and collect all three points.
Kickoff at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez in Getafe is on Sunday 30th March 5pm (CET) and 4pm English time.
The Osasunistas must travel without center back Cesar Cruchaga as well as Iran international Javad Nekounam and Swiss international Xavier Margairaz plus Ludovic Delporte.
A little doubt is still on Carlos Vela but the signs are looking good, for his much needed return, with center back Miguel Flano also expected to return, but defensive midfielder Javi Garcia is suspended after he was red carded in stoppage time against Betis.
The team will drive on Saturday afternoon on the teambus from training ground Tajonar to Madrid. The arrival at Madrid Hotel NH Eurobuilding is planned at 8pm (CET) where the team will check in for the night.
