On loan Arsenal forward Carlos Vela is in action on Sunday in La Liga with loan club CA Osasuna Pamplona against Real Union Deportiva Valladolid in the province Castille Leon in a another crucial battle to stay in spain’s top league.

Carlos Vela will start on the left wing to support spanish striker Kike Sola up front. Carlos was in the last matches very active on the left wing and worked hard for his teammates and the club.

After the decent performance from Osasuna against UD Almeria, Jose Angel Ziganda will see this battle against a team who is in the same situation as another very important step on the way to avoid relegation for the club, if the team pick up all three points on Sunday.

The side from coach Jose Luis Mendilibar are currently 17th in the league table and of course they need a victory on Sunday to past the Osasunistas in the table.

Vela’s side are currently 12th with 33 points with Real Valladolid currently on dangerous position 17th with 31 points so the side from Jose Angel Ziganda is only 2 points ahead of Valladolid, but with the recent form firm favourites to turn over the hosts on Sunday and collect all three points.

Kickoff at Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla in Valladolid is on Sunday 16th of March 5pm (CET) and 4pm English time.

The Osasunistas must travel without center back Miguel Flano as well as Iran international Javad Nekounam as well as Swiss international Xavier Margairaz as well as Ludovic Delporte. Young prospect Cesar Azpilicueta is back after suspension, but right winger Juanfran is a big doubt because he picked up a minor injurie in the last matchup. Furthermore Patxi Punal is suspended about his 10 yellow card.

The team will drive on Saturday with the teambus from training ground Tajonar to Valladolid. The arrival at Valladolid Hotel NH Balago is planned at 8pm (CET) where the team will check in for the night.

  1. Fantastic preview Alex, straight to the point and brilliant build up to the game. I have a strong feeling that Carlos is coming close to not only setting La Liga alight with his pure pace, but his goal scoring attributes could contribute towards his progress at Osasuna this season.
