Arsenal’s Carlos Vela A Doubt For Mexico Clash Tonight

20 08 2008

The Mexican Football Association have today confirmed that Arsenal forward Carlos Vela has pulled a muscle in his right leg and is now a big doubt for tonight’s match against Honduras.

“El Tri” head coach Sven Göran Eriksson revealed to the Mexican press that Vela has done light-training, but there is a chance he could play tonight.

“Vela trained yesterday only a half part, because he had a small problem, but he is available for tonight”

I hope they don’t risk him then.

I think that he shouldn’t be allowed to play for the international team if there is any risk that he might get a serious injury…..

If he plays for Mexico tonight I’ll be so pissed off. Knowing Van Persie he’ll get injured on international duty and we’ll have to partner Ade with Bendtner and we know how ineffective that partnership is.

I am Mexican, and I don’t think Sven Goran will use him tonight, because Honduras should not represent big problem for Mexico. The main reason to bring him is to present him and the other members of the team to the new manager.

Players often play with little niggles, hopefully they wouldn’t risk him if it was anything serious.

Great info Alex, I hope this little niggle isn’t what keeps Carlos out of the Gunners’ squad for a while.

Usually players become more exposed to injuries when they come to Arsenal. Hope this isn’t the case.
