Carlos Vela With Osasuna, Ahead Of Valencia Clash

25 04 2008

On loan Arsenal forward Carlos Vela is in action on Sunday in La Liga with loan club CA Osasuna against Valencia FC, in a another very crucial battle to stay in the Spanish top divsion.

Vela’s side lost their home match on last Sunday against Deportivo La Coruna, and coach Jose Angel Ziganda is now under pressure with two matches left. First Valencia on Sunday and then they are at home against Bernd Schuster’s Real Madrid who by then could have become Champions.

Carlos Vela will start on the left wing to support Kike Sola or Eduardo Dady up front. Ziganda must change his formation to 4-4-2, because Spanish Winger Juanfran is a little doubt for the clash. If Juanfran cannot play it would be a blow for Osasuna, because his passing play with Vela and Plasil is very important to the club.

Valencia Football Club have sacked their coach Ronald Koeman last weekend after a shocking 5:1 defeat against Bascian side Athletic Bilbao.

However they have appointed Salvador González and he takes charge of a team this is currently 15th in the league table. This campaign is very dissapointing for a team with so many high quality players.

The most dangerous player is Spanish striker David Villa, who confirmed earlier this week that he would love to play for the Gunners.

Vela’s side are currently 14th with 40 points, and Valencia are currently 15th with 39 points so only one point behind Vela’s team, but with the recent form, Osasuna have a good chance to turn over the hosts on Sunday and collect all three points.

Kickoff at Estadio Mestalla in Valencia is on Sunday 27th April 5pm (CET) and 4pm English time.

The Osasunistas must travel without midfielder Ludovic Delporte as well as Swiss international Xavier Margairaz. Good news for Ziganda about left back Monreal, he is back after his suspension.

The team will fly on Saturday evening on a charter plane from Airport Pamplona to Valencia. The arrival at Valencia Hotel NH Center is planned at 7.30pm (CET) where the team will check in for the night.
